Our next GLASC meeting will be held on March 8, 2006 from 12 - 1:30 p.m. at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc.  Lunch will be provided.

February Meeting Minutes

February 15, 2006
Meeting was called to order at 12:07 p.m. by John Dougherty.
Emergency Procedures.
Paul thanked Donna Majewski & Great Lakes Chemical (a Chemtura Company) for hosting last month’s meeting.
Introductions.
 

New Business: 

Swore in Joyce Peterson as Vice President since she was absent from our December and January meetings.

Treasurer’s Report = $3,420.58.

bulletWe hope to have the website totally switched over to Paul very shortly.  We will be making a few changes to the members’ page (colors) to make it easier to read.  We will also just list the members as PRESENT and PAST as the list is getting longer.
bulletOur next meeting will be March 8th, 2006 at 12:00 at Subaru of Indiana Automotive.  Lunch will be provided.  RSVP’s are needed by 3/6/06.
bulletSign in sheets & future meeting sheets were passed around.

A tour will be available of Caterpillar’s facility once the meeting has concluded if anyone is interested.

bulletBehavior based safety – who uses it & what program do they use?
 
bulletApproach to OSHA knocking on your door?  How do you welcome them?
 
bulletPossible meeting topic might be to invite OSHA to present at a meeting.
 
bulletLift truck training, incident training, and retraining.  How often is it performed?  Is it done in house or hired out?  How many incident re-trainings are allowed before disciplinary actions are taken (if any)?
 
bulletDifference between 29CFR?  1910 (general industry) vs. 1926 (construction)?
 
bulletP.P.E.  Standards on arc flash clothing in industrial sites?  Respirators?  Jewelry?  E-training?
 
bulletSafety training?  Who performs it?  Lockout/tag out, fall protection, etc.
 
bulletBird flu pandemic?  Are businesses preparing for it?  Information is available at the CDC’s website or the state health department’s website.
