New Business:
Treasurers Report =
$3,381.01. Two new members have joined GLASC since our last meeting. They
are Endocyte and Tuthill Transport Technologies.
Elizabeth Mills is
retiring from maintaining the GLASC website at the end of the year. We are
looking for someone to take over. More information is to come.
Our next meeting is
September 14th @ 1:00 at the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s
Department. Major Tracey Brown will be presenting a bomb squad demo.
We are still planning
December’s meeting. If anyone has a suggestion for a speaker and topic,
please contact Paul Felkey or Michele Baker.

 | Long term exposure:
• 6 – 10 years through audiology testing |
 | Warning signs:
• Asking others to repeat themselves.
• Turning your head to one side while listening.
• Avoid social gatherings.
• Difficulty on phone.
• Ringing or buzzing in ear – “Tinnitus” |
 | Self test:
• Set car radio at the lowest volume level that you
can hear just before you turn
off the engine.
• After work, see how much you have to
increase volume. |
 | Checking the fit:
• Annual audiometric testing.
• Checking the fit every time. |
 | Best Check:
• After inserting earplugs, step into noisy environment.
• Cup your hands & place over ears.
• Noise levels in the 90 – 100 dB area are just loud enough
to hurt you. |

• Foam earplugs.
• Ultra fit & Push-Ins (re-usable)
• Earmuffs. |
