Paul Felkey called the meeting to order at 12:05 p.m.
Emergency procedures.
Sign in sheets.
Introductions.
Paul thanked Randy Beaver & Barron & Associates for hosting the March meeting.

Comments from Donna Majewski on the April ASSE meeting.
Treasurers report from Andy Parker - $4,030.11.  We have 34 paid members to date

Next meeting will be June 8 at TRW Automotive.

  Paul introduced this month’s speaker – Joe Pavia with Bussman.  
  www.nfpa.org  NFPA 70E:  Covers electrically safe work practices, PPE, & safety boundaries.  Provides formulae & tables for PPE selection & safe work distances.

Only 2 reasons to work “hot” or “live”:
bullet De-energizing introduces additional or increased hazards.

Minimizing the opportunities:

bulletProperly interrupt loads & open disconnecting devices.

bulletApply lockout/tagout devices.

Flash Hazard Analysis

bulletDetermine the proper PPE.

Some things to make sure are done:
bulletIdentify person in charge of safety.
bulletGet with electrical professionals to work together for procedures.
bulletPurchase NFPA 70E.
bulletOutline procedures & how to handle those procedures.
