New Business:
Paul welcomed new safety professionals to our meeting, we hope to see
you at more of our meetings.
Two Items for Consideration:
- December 8th meeting will be our
annual meeting, lunch will be provided. At this time we are looking at
the Outpost or The Trails. We need to have a speaker, if you have any
ideas please let any officer know.
- We need nominations for Officers of
GLASC. The trustees will not be up for nominations as their term is for 2
years. One nomination was made for Paul Felkey for President.
Feature Presentation:
Today’s meeting was hosted by Eli Lilly, thank you
Larry Lucas. Bruce Guiliani of Heritage Group was our speaker. Bruce
introduced us to ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers). ASSE is the
world’s largest group of safety professionals.
ASSE supplies their members with Safety and Health
Topics related to General Industry, Construction, Loss Control, Industrial
Hygiene, and Ergonomics. They hold Professional Development Conferences.
They provide scholarships to students enrolled in Safety at ISU and IU.
They will be hosting the Central Indiana Safety &
Health Conference & Expo at University Inn Conference Center, West
Lafayette on April 13th & 14th 2005. Please NOTE:
This is the new date for the conference; it was postponed from the
original date of November 3rd & 4th. This will be
open to all, not just members.
