Next GLASC Meeting

Our next meeting be at Ball Corporation, the topic will be RCRA Training.  More information will be forth coming.  RSVPs will be required. 

 

July Meeting Minutes

The Meeting was called to order at 1:04pm by Paul Felkey.
Emergency procedures were gone over.
Paul thanked Scott Troglen and Elaine Doss for the Arc Flash and Flash Safety Meeting held at Ivy Tech.
Today’s topic is Behavior Based Safety Training.
Presented by Diane West of Rea Magnet.

Old Business:

Paul went over the previous meeting minutes.

New Business:

The treasurer’s report was given denoting a balance of $3,249.75.  There was 2 new memberships received in the mail.

The executive meeting discussed:
December’s meeting and where it is to be held.  Some suggestions were The Outpost, The Trails, or a private room at Prestons.
We are looking for a presenter for this meeting.  If anyone has suggestions, please contact Paul Felkey.

The website has been completely brought up to date, a very big thank you to Elizabeth Mills.

The AASE Conference will be held at University Inn on November 3 & 4.  Joyce will be sending out a registration form for this conference.

Next years officers will be nominated in October, voted on in November and sworn in, in December.

Pat Grimes of the Lafayette Fire Department stated that we can call him with any questions regarding fire codes, NFPA, or egress.

  Course Structure:
bulletTook two (2) weeks to teach each unit.
bulletSupervisors taught classes & took ten (10) weeks for entire course.

 

  Three (3) Types of at-risk behavior:

bulletHabitual Behavior
bulletUnintentional Behavior

 

  Adults Remember:
bullet10% of what they see.
bullet50% of what they see, hear.
bullet70% of what they see, hear, & talk about.
bullet90% of what they see, hear, talk about, & do.
bullet95% of what they see, hear, talk about, do, & teach.

        
All employees of Rea Magnet Wire have been trained on all five (5) modules.  The next step  is to find a way to implement.
