Paul Felkey, President, opened the meeting at 1:00pm.

Andrew Parker, Treasurer, stated that there was $2,400.00 in GLASC bank
account.
Paul stated that the survey that was sent out received only 44
responders. Most of these responders requested that everything remain the
same as far as meeting time, meeting day, and meeting places. Paul noted
that the results of this survey will be posted on the GLASC web site.

Feature Presentation:
Today’s meeting was held at Caterpillar, the topic being “Lafayette
Caterpillar Safety Strategic Improvement Project”. John Dougherty and
Andrew Parker were the presenters. John and Andy went through the
Strategic Improvement Project Safety Performance that Caterpillar has
adopted to further the safety procedures for all CAT employees. The
safety standard that has been adopted has incorporated top management
personnel. It has established a goal for General Manager’s through-out
the corporation. Top managers and pay raises will be affected with how
they are meeting the safety procedures that have been set in place.
Unsafe acts causes 96% of all accidents. CAT has also implemented a
behavior based safety program, targeting specific behavior for
improvement. Safety personnel will observe workers based on a one on one
intervention.
