Paul Felkey stated that nominations for 2003
Officers are due in October, the council will vote on the nominees in
November and new officers will be sworn in at December’s meeting.
Paul also brought up that we would like
to get the GLASC name out in the community and hopefully get more membership
from other companies. He suggested that we reward members with shirts and
award shirts to the Officers to wear to meetings. Also we should
participate in fairs and get our information out to the community.

Feature Presentation:
Kent Kafka, of Occupational Health &
Hygiene Corporation of America, was the guest speaker and the topic was
Who Wants to Be An Industrial Hygienist.
He ran through the basic definition of an
industrial hygienist and set his presentation to the theme of “Who Wants to
Be A Millionaire.” He explained the terms used by all of us and what they
actually mean and also the best sampling methods utilized for different
situations. He also brought a good understanding of how to approach
problems and what steps to take to measure and evaluate the situation. He
also suggested having a form to fill out for people who voice concerns so
that you will have good background information before you head out to a
mystery complaint. Kent did an excellent job of keeping the mood light and
keeping the topic interesting. And special thanks go out to Mrs. Jeffries,
Jack’s wife who hand-made a bunch of American Flag pins for us all to wear
and enjoy.
Meeting concluded at 2:30pm.
