January Meeting Minutes
|
| SPECIAL THANKS to Elaine
Doss of Ivy Tech State College for
hosting the January GLASC Meeting. GLASC also appreciated Diane
Morris's presentation on the upcoming standards' changes and what to
expect in safety for 2001.
David Hotler proposed a half day conference instead of the workshop this year. A
four hour meeting focusing on Crisis Management, what do you do after the event, how to
talk to the media, what do you say, etc. This was well received and the speaker he
suggested - Dan Pyle Millar, Ph.D., APR, is a senior consultant managing the
Indianapolis-office of the Institute for Crisis Management. He also is a professor
of communication and coordinator of the public relations programs at Indiana State
University. Dan has authored four books including the most recent, Crisis Management
and Communication: How to Gain and Maintain Control, co-authored with Robert
B. Irvine. He has consulted and trained clients from throughout the Midwest
including bankers, real estate managers, hospital and school personnel, corrections
officers and professional athletes. This idea was very well received and sparked
much discussion about the proposed event.
